MANILA, Philippines – “Some producers do not pay and honor the contract and this is what happened tonight.”
This was what Bossa Nova singer Sitti Navarro claimed on the first video posted on YouTube by user Captured Cagayan de Oro on Aug. 20 as to the reason she refused to go onstage and perform in Rodelsa Hall, Cagayan de Oro on Aug. 19.
Navarro said that she opted not to go on stage because the show’s co-producer and performer, Julius (Julio) Pacana, allegedly did not pay her yet. And instead of addressing the problem, Pacana came up with some excuse and told the audience that Navarro won’t be able to perform “because she wasn’t feeling well.”

Explaining that she was already at the venue as early as 5:00 p.m., since the show was supposed to start at 7:00 p.m., Navarro related her shock over what Pacana said.
“Nagulat ako kasi why would he lie? ‘Di ba parang hindi naman ata tama na kami na nga ang naagrabyado, kami na ‘yung naipit, tapos kami pa ‘yung makikita na masama. So I just really had to go out there and tell you guys what really happened today for you to really know what really happened… for you to know the truth,” she said on the second video posted on the same day by Captured Cagayan de Oro.
The Bossa Nova singer described the incident as “really unfair and unprofessional,” adding that nobody should be lying about anyone.
Nonetheless, after explaining on stage what transpired, Navarro still went on with her performance.
A warning
On the second video, she likewise narrated that she received a warning of sort about Pacana. Brushing off the caution, she recounted, “Sabi ng management company ko, ‘Don’t worry, hindi ka namin papasampahin [sa stage] hangga’t hindi sila nagbabayad.’”
Regrettably, this unfortunate incident allegedly occurred even when Pacana went through Sitti’s management to broker the deal.
According to abs-cbnNEWS.com’s Aug. 22 report,  joining Navarro in the list of the ones unpaid by Pacana were the venue’s owner and the band.
She appealed to Pacana and said, "Huwag na po tayong maglokohan...sana ito na ang kahuli-hulihan. Kahit hindi po ako bayaran, basta bayaran ang venue, ang banda, ang van, sana ayusin niyo ito."
