John Carpenter’s “The ward [2010]”

John Carpenter’s movie never failed to amaze me and at the same time scared the hell out of me. If you’re looking for a good treat of horror and at the same time action. I can recommend that you should watch “The Ward” The film was originally released last 2010. John Carpenter knows how to give a fright to his viewers. I would like to give credits to the actress and actors that made this film possible.

They did a good job. At the beginning of the film there’s a girl running on the woods wearing this ugly off-white lingerie.  Running like a crazy dog, she stopped in an old house; suddenly she grabbed the match and burned the house down. The police came and brought her to the mental institute.

She then met Zoe, Iris, Emily and Sarah. In the mental institute Kristine started to have this weird dream of a girl hanging in the basement. The girl’s hands were full of mud and her face looks awful because of her hair.  Kristine’s personality is aggressive and a bit mysterious.

She suffered from Multiple Personality disorder. She created 5 different characters and each of them has its own personality.

D'Agosto hesitant with Final Destination

Source: http://trialx.com/celebrities/2011/07/19/nicholas-dagosto-pictures/

24 Aug – With the fifth instalment of the thriller franchise released, leading man Nicholas D'Agosto reveals that he was sceptical to join the series which has spawned many sequels to mediocre reviews, according to a report on Hero Complex website.
D'Agosto, who plays the character of Sam Lawton in the film, says that after he met director Steve Quale and co-producer Craig Perry, he things would be different this time around, "When I began talking to Steve and Craig about what they wanted to do and how passionate they were, it started a continuous succession of pleasant surprises that continued throughout the shoot."
"Steve took the franchise but he didn't treat it like it was a sequel," says D'Agosto, "He treated it like it was his big-budget action movie. So his imprint is what separates it from its forbears. He treated it like a thriller that could live on its own."
The film was shot over a period of three months in Vancouver, Canada, and D'Agosto says that the cast including Miles Fisher, Emma Bell and P.J. Byrne became extremely close with each other.
Following the popular "Final Destination" series, this latest installment will see Death just as sadistic as ever. After one man's premonition saves a group of co-workers from a terrifying suspension bridge collapse, Death comes after them one at a time as they frantically try to avoid their ill fate once and for all.
"Final Destination 5" will be showing this 25 August in Singapore!

'The Smurfs' opens at no. 1 in the PHL, sequel in the works

The Smurfs
MANILA, Philippines — True-blue cuteness prevailed over apes, cowboys and aliens at the Philippine box office as Columbia Pictures’ live action and animated comedy “The Smurfs” opened at number one nationwide, hauling P29.25-M for the Aug. 10 to 14 opening weekend frame.  This was announced today by Victor R. Cabrera, managing director of Columbia Pictures Industries, Inc., the film’s local distributor.

“Rise of the Planet of the Apes” came in at second place (P22.41-M), followed by “Cowboys & Aliens” at third (P18.14-M), and “Captain America: The First Avenger” at fourth (P9.14-M).

Delighted by the over-achieving success of “The Smurfs” both in the U.S. and overseas, studio Sony Pictures has already green-lighted a sequel, due in theatres in 2013.

Rolling out in 115 screens (including 63 digital 3D cinemas) in the country, “The Smurfs” posted its biggest gross at SM Mall of Asia with P1.67-M, followed by SM North EDSA (P1.59-M), Trinoma (P1.50-M), Power Plant (P1.24-M), SM Megamall (P932,939), Greenhills (P841,418), Newport (P829,703), Alabang Town Center (P775,042), Glorietta 4 (P727,033) and Greenbelt 3 (P722,255).

In the film, when the evil wizard Gargamel chases the Smurfs out of their village, through a magical portal, and into our world, they land in the middle of New York’s Central Park. Just three apples high and stuck in the Big Apple, the Smurfs must find a way to get back to their village before Gargamel tracks them down.

The film stars Neil Patrick Harris, Jayma Mays, Sofia Vergara, and Hank Azaria as Gargamel, with voices provided by Katy Perry and Anton Yelchin, among others.

Still showing across the Philippines, “The Smurfs” is distributed by Columbia Pictures, local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International.

New Deets On Anne Hathaway's Catwoman In The Dark Knight Rises!

catwoman steals batpod
Somebody in the media world must have put up the Bat Signal, because The Dark Knight Rises updates keep on comin'!
Over the weekend, we got a first full length look at Anne Hathaway as Catwoman in the new Batman film, and now we're getting MORE updates on Ms. Selina Kyle.
Last week, we also saw another image of Catwoman (above) which we thought was interesting, and now we're hearing that the story behind the photo has to do with Anne's character stealing the "Batpod" vehicle.
SPOILER ALERT: Here are some other deets regarding Catwoman's backstory in the film, which have been reportedly leaked:
Catwoman is apparently one of the most well written characters we’ve seen in these movies so far and she could potentially steal the show the way Heath Ledger did last time. She does some cool stuff in the movie like jumping out of windows and stealing the Batpod. Her back story is that she has a history of abuse and works as a stripper and is also a pickpocket.
We're also hearing that at some point in the film, the Catwoman costume might be mixed up, and that we'll likely see Selina Kyle wearing a "cowl."
All very interesting stuff, and we're kind of glad to hear that Catwoman's attire might get mixed up a bit. We're pumped for the film, and we're VERY excited to see Anne's performance…but we weren't totally crazy about that costume.
What do U think about these new Catwoman deets?

The ‘gossip girl’ becomes even more obsessive in ‘The Roommate’

By ANNIE S. ALEJO
April 5, 2011, 5:50pm
MANILA, Philippines – Never has living with a stranger been this deadly as when “Single White Female” presented the concept of the girl-on-girl obsession back in the early ‘90s. In Academy Award-nominated director Christian E. Christiansen’s new movie, “The Roommate,” friendship crosses the line into obsession once again and becomes a thriller that is rooted on reality.
Leighton Meester (Rebecca) and Minka Kelly (Sara) star in the college thriller 'The Roommate' “The Roommate” stars two of the most popular young TV series actors in Hollywood. The movie revolves around Sara (Minka Kelly of “Friday Night Lights” and “Parenthood”), a talented young design student from Iowa, who arrives in Los Angeles for college. There she meets Rebecca (Leighton Meester of “Gossip Girl” fame), a wealthy girl from Pasadena who immediately becomes her friend.
As the movie progresses, Sara begins to make other friends of her own and Rebecca doesn’t necessarily take this well; even more so when Sara begins spending more time with new boyfriend Stephen (Cam Gigandet of the “Twilight” film series). And as Rebecca’s behavior only serves to push Sara to move out of their dorm, the obsessive former roommate spins violently out of control, which culminates in an explosive confrontation between the two.
Meester has now been faced with a challenge of going into the deep end with her character, Rebecca, a role that obviously demands more from her, physically and emotionally, than her Blair Waldorf turn in “Gossip Girl.”
“It wasn’t an easy movie to make, but it was always interesting,” she admits. “[Director] Christian [Christiansen] had a very specific vision of how he wanted things, which made me confident that it would turn out beautifully. He’s all about making things as real as possible and getting the most honest performance out of everyone.”
A successful actress since her early years, Meester never really went through the whole roommate experience most college students have had, but she has her thoughts on the subject. “Being assigned the person you’re going to live with for the next eight or nine months sounds a lot like a blind date,” she muses. “It’s strange to think that when you come to college, you have to live with someone you don’t know at all.”
But she admits it is an intriguing concept for a movie. “The idea of sharing some totally intimate moments with somebody you don’t know that well is disconcerting and a great jumping off point for this story. I think everyone who sees this film will interpret it a little differently.”
Getting into the psyche of Rebecca, Meester even had to consult with psychiatrists to learn more about what made the character who she was.  “This is the story of the psychological deterioration of a human being who has no real identity of her own and is trying to appropriate another person’s,” she notes. “The character has so much depth. I had to find whatever I could in her to love, because I don’t think she means anybody any harm. Her relationship with her parents was particularly interesting.”
Meester describes Rebecca as “grossly misinterpreting” her newfound friendship with Sara, and that’s when things got out of control. “She progresses into this completely irrational alternate universe, thinking that Sara needs her as much as she needs her.”
Helping her develop the role further, Meester relied on Christiansen’s vision as well as the edge and rawness of his earlier films that she’s come to admire. “His style is not overly manicured,” she says of the director. “Christian does what I think of as ‘ninja’ directing. He doesn’t spell anything out. He just plants an idea in your head. Even if it’s not something that’s in the front of your mind, it’s back there, and the wheels are still turning. He conjured as much from me as he possibly could.”
Fans of her TV series have come to expect backstabbing and general mischievousness from Meester, but perhaps they are yet to see her this creepy, devious and, perhaps, even dangerous.
“The Roommate” descends into madness beginning April 6 in local theaters.

RPG: Metanoia [1st 3D Filipino Computer-Animated Adventure Film]

RPG: Metanoia is a Filipino computer-animated adventure film produced by Ambient Media, Thaumatrope Animation and ABS-CBN Film Productions Inc. Star Cinema. It is the first full length Philippine animated film presented in 3D. It won 3rd Best Picture, Best Sound Recording and Best Original Theme Song in the 2010 Metro Manila Film Festival, Quezon City's Special Citation was also given for being a Gender Sensitive Movie in the said event.

Production

RPG took 4 years to make. Thaumatrope Animation began work in 2007. In 2008, a teaser trailer for the movie (then titled "theRPGmovie") was shown at Level Up's Ragnarok Online event at the World Trade Center. In August 2009, Ambientmedia officially partnered with ABS-CBN. In June 2010, it was announced to be an official entry for the 36th Metro Manila Film Festival. In August 2010, RPG: Metanoia's official website was launched. The Cinema Evaluation Board gave the movie a Grade A.

Commercial

RPG: Metanoia opened with P5.1 million on December 25.

Critical reception

Maria Jorica B. Pamintuan of the Philippine Star stated that the movie stands out for its originality; for defying the typical storytelling formula used in other Metro Manila Film Festival entries; for not relying on "star power" (drawing power of renown actors/actresses); for capturing elements of Philippine society and culture; and for having endearing characters. Cited weaknesses however include its dubbing (reminiscent of anime shown on Philippine television), which was delivered mostly in exaggerated fashion.
At ClickTheCity.com, Philbert Ortiz Dy declared the film worthy of comparison to CGI animated features released by Pixar Animation, the studio behind such animated films as Toy Story 3, "Up", "Wall-E", and "Cars" stating: "Regular readers are probably aware of how highly I regard Pixar and their work, and so it should taken as high praise when I say that I would proudly hold RPG: Metanoia up against even the best of Pixar. The film is simply extraordinary,"

DALAW [visit]

Dalaw is a horror-suspense film starring Kris Aquino and Diether Ocampo.

This movie was produced by Star Cinema and CineMedia. This is the 3rd horror movie of Ms. Kris Aquino.
I haven't seen the movie Dalaw because I don't have much time but I'm an avid fun of Ms. Kris Aquino. I saw Feng Shui and Sukob and it scared me to the bone. Specially the sound and the story it self it's very unique and original. No wonder Ms. Kris Aquino is The Queen of Horror.

My friends told me that this movie is a lot scarier than Feng Shui and Sukob.

Hatchet II is a 2010 American horror film written and directed by Adam Green. It is the sequel to Green's film, Hatchet. Picking up right where the first film ended, Hatchet II follows Marybeth as she escapes the clutches of the deformed, swamp-dwelling, iconic killer Victor Crowley. After learning the truth about her family’s connection to the hatchet-wielding madman, Marybeth returns to the Louisiana swamps along with an army of hunters to recover the bodies of her family and exact the bloodiest revenge against the bayou butcher.
The film sees the return of Kane Hodder and Tony Todd who portrayed Victor Crowley and Reverend Zombie in the 2006 film, respectively. Danielle Harris portrays Marybeth, a role originally played by Tamara Feldman. The film was originally screened at the 2010 London FrightFest Film Festival on August 26, 2010. It was released unrated in the United States and Canada on October 1, 2010.

PLOT:

Picking up immediately where the first film ended, Marybeth (Danielle Harris) is attacked by Victor Crowley (Kane Hodder)[2], but manages to escape. Jack Cracker (John Carl Buechler) finds her and pulls her out of the river, and takes her back to his cabin. After finding out her last name, he forces her to leave, telling her that if she wants help, she needs to see Reverend Zombie (Tony Todd). Moments after she leaves Jack is killed by Victor Crowley. Marybeth returns to Reverend Zombie's shop, and after demanding to speak with him, he reluctantly lets her in. After learning her last name, he tells her that her father was one of the boys responsible for causing the fire that killed Victor Crowley. He also tells her that Thomas, Victor's father, had an affair with his wife, Shyann's nurse, after Shyann was diagnosed with stomach cancer. Moments before dying, Shyann places a curse on the child conceived by Lena from the affair. Lena dies after giving birth to the deformed Victor Crowley. After Victor is killed in the fire, Thomas confronts the three boys responsible. Both they and their parents deny it. Thomas becomes a shut-in and eventually dies.
Marybeth tells him she wants to go back and retrieve the remains of her father and brother. He agrees, but tells her she must bring a family member with her. After she leaves, Zombie calls Justin (Parry Shen) and tells him his brother Shawn, the tour guide who was murdered the night before, never came back with the boat. He lies and says they are going into the swamp to find Shawn and the boat. He tells Justin to gather a group of hunters and a man named Trent (R.A. Mihailoff) to go with them. Marybeth returns home, where her uncle Bob (Tom Holland) later shows up. He tells her she needs to stay away from Reverend Zombie, but reluctantly goes with her to a recruitment meeting in Zombie's shop. Zombie tells the hunters that he will pay them $500 dollars each to retrieve his boat and $5,000 dollars for the head of Victor Crowley. He tells Trent that he will pay him double to go, and Trent agrees. The hunters leave and go into the swamp, including Marybeth and her uncle.
They find the boat and as the rest leave two of the hunters (Colton Dunn & Rick McCallum) stay by the boat. The others split up to find Victor. Marybeth, Zombie, Justin, Bob, and Trent go looking by Crowley's shed for the bodies. Along the way Zombie tells Justin that Trent, Bob and Marybeth's father were the kids who started the fire that killed Victor. He says that once Crowley kills Bob and Trent, his soul will leave the swamp. After finding the bodies in the shed, they check the main cabin. Meanwhile, the rest of the hunting party are killed off by Crowley. While searching the cabin, they hear Victor outside. While hiding, Justin tells Marybeth of Zombie's plot to get her uncle and Trent killed. She runs to warn Bob but Justin jams the door shut with a chair. Victor turns up behind him and kills him. Bob and the others attempt to get into the room. Victor breaks down the door, and Marybeth attempts to attack him but is tossed against the wall. Trent attempts to fight him, but is killed. Zombie grabs Marybeth and drags her out of the house against her will and traps Bob inside with Victor. Marybeth screams as she hears Bob murdered by Victor inside. She falls to the ground crying and Zombie declares Victor Crowley dead. Marybeth says she will go to the police. Zombie tells her she is wrong as he points his gun at her head. She tells him Bob wasn't her real uncle. Her father's brother died of leukemia when she was twelve. Victor breaks through the wall of the cabin and goes after Zombie, and kills him. Marybeth attacks Victor with a hatchet, knocking him to the ground and strike him repeatedly with the hatchet. She stops and walks off just as Victor's hand twitches. Marybeth returns and stands over him with a shotgun, yells "Fuck You!" and fires the gun into his head.

Development

Hatchet II was announced in November 2008 when Anchor Bay Entertainment released a teaser poster for the film. Adam Green stated that he would be writing and directing, depending on how long the other projects he was working on took. He also stated that if the projects took too long, he would pass writing and directing duties on to someone else.[3] On November 24, 2009, it was officially announced that Adam Green would return to write and direct.[4] The final draft of the script was completed on December 7, 2009. In order to keep details under wraps, even the crew did not receive copies of the script and the majority of cast only received select pages. Fake scripts, fake endings, and fake story lines were circulated around the industry and no visitors or guests were allowed near the set. The cast gathered for their first table reading on December 15, 2009.

From the filmmakers we have your first look at the poster for a childrens tale.. turned scary! Terrestrial Pictures and Illusion Enterprises are pleased to announce the upcoming production A Tale of Little Red Riding Hood. Based on one of the most famous and cherished fables, the new live-action film will be a darker reimaging of the cautionary classic Little Red Riding Hood.
